2026/27 LATEST : the new patio and balcony tiles will undergo serious works over the 26/27 winter due to poor quality installation : water leaks, lifting tiles, failing grout... yes, it hurts. We're also upgrading the roof terrace (a hot tub with sea views is planned - tbc!) and completely repainting the villa in WHITE. It will look very different by Spring 2027 - book now to be one of the first to see the new and improved Casa Hugo!

MAJOR work completed...

2024 - The patio has been extended and retiled in super-modern 80x80 off-white non-slip porcelain tiles with matching steps. More sunbed space, more contemporary, more 5 star Algarve! Think modern Miami vibes. It looks AWESOME!

2024 - All internal ground & first floors have been retiled in a satin version of the same large format tiles as outside. All bathrooms have been upgraded with new tiles, taps, showers, sanitaryware and more. The kitchen is staying... for now...

2024 - We have now replaced most of our windows/patio doors with new thicker and much more efficient aluminium frames. Bedrooms will be much quieter and the aircon will use less energy. Our brilliant electric blackout shutters remain!

2025 - Our roof has been completely repointed, along with extra downpipes for when it rains (yes, we're almost unique in the Algarve : we have gutters!!).

2025 - A shadesail replaced the pergola to keep your parked car cool throughout the day

2026 - the lawn was reseeded, deweeded, levelled, extra irrigation installed, and generally made more lush and green

2022 - the pool was completely retiled and rebuilt, with iridescent Ezarri Ocean mosiac pool tiles, superwhite hybrid resin grout, custom granite edgings, new filter, clever dosing equipment and a change from sand to glass filter media. It's just stunning, with the Algarve sunshine lighting the tiles up like they're coated in glitter.
