From our front door to the wide concrete ramp right onto the sand next to Campimar there are exactly zero steps
Lifeguards are on duty from May to September
There's a hill, but it's all pushchair-friendly pavement, no off-roading required
Do note some other Lagos beaches may involve a couple of hundred steps
Check out our beach guide pages for more info
We've got our hill up from the beach but once that's tackled the area is pretty level and flat. Porto de Mos is a relatively newly developed area so the pavements and roads are of a high standard.
Lagos is less than 30 minutes walk
Ponta da Piedade is an easy 20 minutes or so on level and flat boardwalks and pavements that stretch around the headland to a flight of steps near Praia Dona Ana
We have gates that pull right across the staircase access from the hall, on the landing between the staircase and the bedrooms, plus a removeable gate for a bedroom doorway available on request
All sliding windows & doors have additional childproof pop-out locks too
The pool is visible from almost every room in the house, it's right there next to the kitchen, lounge and patio, plus there's a life ring and clearly marked depths - 0.9m to 1.8m. The surfaces around the pool are all anti-slip but when they're soaking wet please do be careful. No diving please!
We have stairgates as above, a travel cot, toys, two highchairs with tables, the basement games room, loads of DVDs, plus Casa Hugo's Netflix account for you to use when the pool has become just too much...
Destination Algarve can provide anything and everything you may need - just ask
The rear garden is surrounded by high walls and the access either side of the villa is gated. The front garden is also walled and gated. Crime is incredibly rare in Porto de Mos, but we do have safes and all windows & doors have upgraded locks
Destination Algarve will provide you with their emergency contact number. We have an excellent hospital around 1km away, Uber and Bolt are available in minutes, and there are multilingual private GPs (eg LuzDoc) locally too. The emergency number here is 112
